All Painted doors, drawer fronts, toe-kick, panels, and trim are 3/4" MDF with a FLAT back surface for easy cleaning. Finish is a water-based urethane enamel which cures to a durable and long-lasting matte sheen. Panels, trim, and toe-kick come Slab-style with a MDF back. For the backs of panels, paint covers approximately 4" of any edge that may show after installation.
Door and Drawer Profile Notes: Shaker rail/stiles are 2.25” wide. 5"h drawer fronts are slab style. Quarterline profile is 3/4" wide. Beaded profile "lines" sit 3" apart.
Unlike our competitors, Semihandmade does not charge a custom paint color fee. We do, however, charge an additional fee of $150 for any order under $700 (not including tax and shipping). There is no additional charge for any painted door order above $700.
Semihandmade base and tall panels are intended to run straight to the floor and slightly past or "proud" of the door/drawer fronts for a more custom, built-in look (see the Installation Manual for more details). It’s also perfectly fine not to do that.
Drilling Info: 12” x 30" fronts do not come pre-drilled for a pullout installation. Users will have to drill their own holes. The 15” x 30" and 18” x 30" fronts DO come predrilled for pullout installation. Flip-up doors are also not pre-drilled. In both undrilled cases, use the template IKEA provides with their specialty hardware.
Semihandmade Painted doors come with a three year warranty on any manufacturer-related issues.
